Date: December 1st 2017

Hello lovelies,

We're excited on multiple counts this weekend: - Tomorrow is our annual holiday party, with Miss Scorpio herself behind the bar, and two of our favorite DJs laying down the beats. No cover, but donations appreciated. - Sunday is our stellar pop-up holiday market with some excellent vendors. Some really great stuff here! - We're still researching large scale spaces for New Year's (grrrr), but in the meantime, we've decided to do a sensual lingerie masquerade in the loft for New Year's, with the return of our early morning pajama lounge the next day -- with breakfast! See below for invites. Tickets are now on sale. - We've just gotten confirmation that our magical secret lair, the Gemini & Scorpio Loft, will continue to exist in 2018 and beyond. That means that we get to do so much more in the coming years, and to hold affordable space for performing arts. Want to do something here? Please get in touch! We want your performance art, burlesque, theater, variety, parties, classes...anything you can imagine, we can help you make happen.

A request, to celebrate our continued existence: Facebook continues to bury events as we post them, at the same time as people end up relying more on their Facebook calendars than anything else. Please make sure you're a fan of our official page: http://bit.ly/GSloft_FB and that event notifications are on in the "following" menu.

Cheers,

G&S Holiday Party

Saturday, December 2, 8pm-12am, FREE / donations appreciated Gemini and Scorpio Loft (must RSVP for Gowanus, BK location): http://www.geminiandscorpio.com/events.html FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/260629157793876/

Our annual night of giving thanks and going overboard with fancy drinks.

Come chill in our sexy home, bring your sexy date, and enjoy our ridiculous craft cocktails. Roaring fireplace projections, holiday classics lounge soundtrack (someone will likely lose LDB!), and Miss Scorpio herself getting stupid behind the bar (8-10pm), all culminating in a dance party (10-2, with Illexxandra & Dj Reaganomics).

We're going to bring back the two specialty cocktails from last year: - That infamous fluffy New Orleans classic, the Ramos Fizz. It's a rarity to find it on bar menus due to how long it takes to make each one. You certainly won't catch us making it at any other event. - Coquito, the classic Puerto Rican eggnog style drink: slushie coconut cinnamon goodness.

Since our annual Goldmine shopping party - Holiday edition is the next day, you'll find Miss Scorpio's racks already set up for vintage, thrift & costume finds.

We're not charging admission for this event, but we'll have a donation jar out. All money goes towards ongoing loft improvements, so please give what you can to make our secret clubhouse even better.

Please wear something festive or cocktail attire...especially vintage-inspired festive cocktail attire. Costumes always welcome, if you're feeling it.

Thank you for your support this and every year! ♥

PUPPETS: Suddenly https://www.bam.org/theater/2017/suddenly Amid the sun-glinted spires of a forsaken Gotham, a storyteller gets the ultimate assignment. In this gritty puppet cinema epic adapted from Tel Aviv-based writer Etgar Keret's darkly funny short story collection Suddenly, A Knock on the Door, Israeli director Zvi Sahar and PuppetCinema (Salt of the Earth, 2014 Next Wave) employ cameras, puppets, and object theater to immerse audiences in a dystopian world where competing narratives lend calm to the chaos. Mountains of rusted metals and ruins form the disenchanted landscape in which a writer must create, no matter the cost, ultimately finding freedom in the depths of his fiction. Humankind has expanded to the stars, journeying ever further into the far reaches of space and delving ever deeper into the mysteries of the universe. But what of striptease? What is the burlesque of the future like? Are there automated G-strings? Cybernetic pasties? Holographic glitter? Have we made contact with life on other worlds - and if so do we get to see them naked too? Wasabassco 3001 will answer these and many other mysteries of times to come. Hosted by Nasty Canasta with Amuse Bouche, Jenny C'est Quoi, Jezebel Express, Minx Arcana, Penny Wren, Qualms Galore, Puss-N-Boots, Sydni Deveraux, The Wasabassco Wonder Twins, Tiger Bay, DJ Stormageddon, and the disembodied head of Doc Wasabassco.
