G&S Movie Night: French Animation

Thursday, Aug 18, 8pm-12am (doors 7:30pm) $10 sugg donation, cash bar, all ages (over 12 best) G&S Loft (must RSVP for Gowanus, BK location): http://www.geminiandscorpio.com/events.html FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/1616286885298533

We're watching two dark, delightful, quirky French animated movies - plus one bonus short. Two of the films are by Sylvain Chomet, whom you might know from his films "Paris, je t'aime" (2006) and "The Illusionist" (2010).

8pm: The Suicide Shop (2012, 1h 19min) by Patrice Leconte. A family-run shop that sells everything you need to take your own life finds it hard to focus on business after a new baby -- one who makes everyone around him happy -- is born into the family.

9:30pm: The Old Lady and the Pigeons (1997, 25min) by Sylvain Chomet. A starving French gendarme realizes that his best chance of survival is to dress up like a pigeon and try to trick an old lady into feeding him along with the pigeons she feeds daily. While he slowly gets fatter, the line between man and bird blurs. And when he at last finds out what he has gotten himself into, it's far too late to turn back...

10pm: The Triplets of Belleville (2003, 1h 18min) by Sylvain Chomet. When her grandson is kidnapped during the Tour de France, Madame Souza and her beloved pooch Bruno team up with the Belleville Sisters--an aged song-and-dance team from the days of Fred Astaire--to rescue him. Nominated for 2 Oscars, plus has 19 other wins & 33 nominations.

This workshop begins with a presentation and discussion about microdosing, with testimonials from current microdosing practitioners. All participants will then sample some plant medicine spagyrics. The evening offers one-to-one individual plant medicine consultations to determine which of Fabian’s 6 plant medicine spagyrics are best suited to help you address your challenges and achieve your goals.
