Boo! It's your date: Triangular dating

Is this your first time? Welcome to triangular dating! We're not going to ask you to go both ways, but we might suggest you goÉ triangular. It's always more fun shopping with a friend. Laboring through racks of clothing (not to mention trying it all on) can be exhausting to say the least. But with a fabulous friend along to help fire up the hunt, shopping becomes glorious. Dating can be just as much fun--with a friend along for the ride.

We're not suggesting you simply drag a third wheel along on your date. (This is not a bicycle with a spare. This is a full-fledged space-age three-wheel dating machine.) We suggest you browse the racks together, pick something out together, and try it on together. Sure, perhaps only one of you should take the item home--or neither--but hey, you never know.

Hey, if we can go to the bathroom in pairs, dating is not too personal.

Girls: Triangular date

Frankly, there's no way around it: this is really for the chicks. Guys, we've got polygons (!) for you in the next exercise.

Ladies, grab a friend, grab a computer, grab a profile you both like. Pen your come-on letter together, stating explicitly that there are two of you, you're both interested and this isn't going to result in an orgy (at least, not tonight). Unlike G&S, meet him in public for the first time. (We only broke that rule when we found out the guy we'd chosen was on crutches.)

Guys: Polygonous date

This one's for the guys. Your aim is to get a number of people at the same table, all theoretically interested in more than one of the people present. Find a friend, or more than one, who's also doing the online dating thing. Invite them to grab someone they likeÑand invite them to come out with you and whomever you've invited. Pass your profiles around. Let come what may.
