We are Gemini and Scorpio, a killer angel/devil, writer/artist duo that has been navigating the online personals scene for the past eight years. And now we are looking to share our hard-earned knowledge with others--and to party with them, while we're at it. We create and promote arts-centric offbeat events in New York City. Our fourth annual Valentine's Day "Get Off...Line" Party, this one a live gypsy music romp at the Russian Baths, was highlighted in the Village Voice Best of 2006 List. We have also thrown authentic vintage swing parties, tiki shindigs, fondue tastings, circus and burlesque showdowns, and many other themed and costumed events, to multiple press accolades (The New York Times, TimeOut NY, The Village Voice, L Magazine, NY Post, amNY, NY press, Brooklyn Based, The SKint, etc) and an occasional celebrity guest (Jean-Paul Gaultier, anyone?).
Our mission: to share our totally biased and utterly helpful advice on online dating--and to help whip your single life into something that will make your conscience blush, your inner angel gasp and your neighbors buy binoculars.
Our other mission: to unite, online and off, a community of unique, intelligent and vibrant thinkers as an alternative for connections to the tired bar scene, VIP parties and gimmicky singles events. This network is NOT singles-only. We don't believe in the frantic chase for "the one." We believe in creating a real community where unique creative types (artists, designers, writers, photographers, performers, musicians, tech geeks) can network and play together. After all, even if you are dating someone (or many someones), you don't lose that fabulous identity you worked so long to develop when you were single. And hey, couples have single friends, too.
We have many friends in the underground arts and vibrant nightlife scene. To fulfill our goal of supporting community, we will do our best each week to bring you a fresh sampling of their events, as well as hosting our own gatherings from time to time. As for our guide, it is so much more than your average dry computer manual or a version of "The Rules" for the cyberspace. We're a classic bad girl/good girl duo.
